정신장애인의 지역사회 자립생활 성공 경험에 관한 질적 사례분석

A Qualitative Case Study on Mentally Disabled People’s Experiences of Successful Life with Self-reliance in the Community

본 연구는 정신장애인의 지역사회 자립생활 성공경험과 의미의 본질을 알아보기 위해 질적 사례연구방법으로 분석하였다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 독립적인 주거로 자립생활을 하고 있는 연구대상자 6명을 대상으로 개별심층인터뷰를 진행하였으며, 연구참여자들의 자립생활 성공경험과 의미의 본질에 대한 진술을 분석하였다. 연구참여자들의 진술내용을 분석한 결과 의미있는 진술의 근간으로 34개의 하위 구성요소와 9개의 구성요소가 도출되었다. 이 구성요소를 통해 ‘나만의 보금자리’, ‘주변사람들의 도움 및 교류’, ‘재활의 중요성’, ‘주도적인 삶’으로 4개의 경험의 본질적 주제가 도출되었다. 연구참여자들의 지역사회 자립생활의 성공적 경험과 의미를 분석한 내용을 토대로 정신장애인의 자립생활 활성화를 위한 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

This study is a qualitative case research whose aims were to investigate mentally disable people’s experiences of successful life with self-reliance in the community and the nature of meaning that such experience has. For the aims, the research selected as its participants 6 mentally disabled persons each of whom was currently living a life with self-reliance at an independent residence. And then, this study made one-on-one profound interviews of those participants, from which data were collected. The study analyzed the data in a way of investigating the respondents’ statements regarding their experienced success of living on their own and the very nature of the meaning of such experience. Through the analysis, 34 sub-categories and 9 categories were drawn out, when some significant statements from the participants were taken into more consideration. Based on those categories, after that, this study determined 4 key topics of the respondents’ experiences, or ‘the nest of my own’, ‘help from others around and exchanges with them’, ‘the importance of rehabilitation’ and ‘self-directed living’. Considering its findings and results, finally, the study made practical implications for improving the mentally disabled’s life with self-reliance.
