북한이탈주민과 남한주민 부부의 갈등과 타협 경험에 관한 질적 연구

A Narrative Inquiry of the Struggle and Negotiation Experience in the South Korean-North Korean Refugee Couple

본 연구의 목적은 남한과 북한에서 각각 다르게 성장한 성인들이 부부 관계를 형성하여, 가족 내․외부의 다양한 도전들에 대처하는 상호작용을 탐색하고 심층적으로 이해하고자 하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 질적 연구방법 중 내러티브 탐구방법을 활용하였다. 남한에 거주하는 남북한 이문화 부부 5쌍의 내러티브에서 나타난 남북한 이문화 부부의 갈등과 타협 경험의 의미에 대해 종합적으로 살펴보면, 갈등 경험은 자존심, 언어 습관, 돈의 가치, 남녀역할, 관습, 행동방식, 가치, 양육방식에서 서로 다른 점을 보여주었으며, 타협 경험은 정서치유, 상생, 가족애, 본따오기, 정체성 성장 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 지금까지 밝혀지지 않았던 남북한 사람들의 관계에 대해 새로운 개념들로 설명할 수 있게 되어 남북한의 동질성과 이질성의 분리된 논의를 통합 발전시켰다. 이를 통해 사회복지 실천적 대안 마련을 위해서 문화적으로 민감한 실천의 필요성을 제시하였고, 사회복지실천 연구방법의 유용한 조사도구로서 내러티브탐구방법의 활용 가능성을 보여주었다.

The purpose of this study is to understand the marital relationships of the North-South Korean couples. This study examined the narratives with the following questions: What challenges do intermarried couples consider to be the greatest? and how do they negotiate? Five North-South Korean couples who have been married for more than two years were selected by snowball sampling method from an urban and rural area in South Korea. From the couples narratives resulted in <meeting at DooMoolMeori>, where the North Han river joins the South Han river, this Han river metaphor is fit to describe the meaning of the experience in the North Korean defector and South Korean married couples. Difference-whirlpool landscape means the relational challenging lives of the couples and diversity-flow landscape means the process of the negotiation and change of the couples. In these landscape themes, although the couples were faced with difficulties through personal and cultural difference, they successfully interacted cross-culturally in overcoming the barriers and made adjustments. Consequently they have developed images of themselves as competent individuals and couples who can understand the viewpoints of people in various parts of the world.
