방문요양보호사의 노인돌봄경험에 관한 연구

Study on the Elder-Care Experiences of Home Care Workers

본 연구는 방문요양보호사의 노인돌봄경험을 요양보호사의 관점에서 깊이 있게 탐색함으로써 노인돌봄경험의 현상을 이해하고 경험에 대한 본질을 밝히는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이에 재가방문요양기관에 근무하는 요양보호사 9명을 대상으로 심층면담을 진행하였으며, 질적연구방법의 하나인 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구방법을 활용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 방문요양보호사의 노인돌봄경험의 5가지 본질적 주제는 ‘메마른 가지에 생기 불어 넣기’, ‘앙상한 인생의 겨울을 함께하는 따뜻한 동행’, ‘황혼녘 어둠이 밀려오는 시간에 대한 두려움’, ‘가슴 밑에서 차오르는 서글픔’, ‘힘겨운 삶에 움트는 희망의 새순’으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 중심으로 서비스 이용 대상자와 보호자들을 대상으로 한 인식개선교육, 방문요양보호사의 고용안정성의 확보, 보수교육의 필요성, 노인의 임종을 위한 호스피스교육과 임종체험에 따른 심리적 충격에서 안정을 찾을 수 있도록 정서적지지 제공의 필요성, 방문요양보호사들과 관내 응급구조기관 및 의료기관들과의 지역사회 네트워크 형성 등에 대해서 제언하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to understand the experience of elder-care and to identify the essence of such experiences by studying the elder-care experiences of home care workers in detail. Method: We conducted interviews with 9 home care workers who work at recuperation centers, and analyzed the data using Colaizzi’s phenomenological methodology, one of the qualitative methodologies. Result: It was found that 5 essential themes of elders-care experiences of home care workers, in order, are Vitalizing dried up branches, Warm company in the winter of life, Fear of the time at twilight when darkness comes, Tuthfulness rising from deep inside the heart, and A new seed of hope sprouted from a hard life. Suggestion: Based on results of this study, we suggested the following things: Education for service users and their guardians to improve recognition; Securing of stable employment for home care workers; Provision of supplementary education for home care workers; Necessity of hospice education on the death of seniors and the provision of emotional support in order to support the stability of recuperation carers following the psychological shock of the experience of the death of a patient; Formation of community networks of home care workers, emergency rescue agencies & medical institutes.
