대학생의 비구조화 집단상담 과정에 대한 현상학적 연구

A phenomenological Study of University Students’ Unstructured Group Counseling: Focused on Actively Participated Students

본 연구는 학부과정에 개설된 집단상담 수업에 능동적으로 참여한 대학생들의 집단상담 경험의 의미와 본질적 주제를 드러내는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 능동적으로 참여한 9명의 집단원들이 11회기 동안 매 주 제출한 135장의 자기성찰적 집단상담 후기, 심층면접 자료, 반구조화 질문지에 응답한 내용을 Georgi의 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 학부생들의 집단상담 참여 경험에 대한 개개인의 개별적 상황진술과 관련된 주제는 22개였고, 본질적 주제는 ‘집단에 대한 경계와 두려움’, ‘내적 접촉을 위한 접근’, ‘자기개방 후의 심리 내ㆍ외적 태도 변화’, ‘민감한 자각과 통찰을 통한 자기이해’, ‘타인이해와 수용’, ‘헌신과 몰입을 통한 동반성장’, ‘보편성 이해와 집단 밖에서 실행하기’의 7가지였다. 이상의 본질적 주제가 지향하는 집단상담 참여로 인한 성장의 의미는 ‘갑작스러운 내적 접촉을 통한 자기개방’, ‘적극적 참여로 인한 자기성찰’, ‘감정 드러내기와 관계 변화’, ‘이타적 참여와 지속적인 성장’의 4가지였으며 이에 대한 일반적 구조진술을 하였다. 본 연구는 대학생의 집단상담 참여 경험에서 변화와 성장의 의미를 현상학적으로 탐색하여, 집단과정을 생생하게 밝혔다는데 의의가 있다.

This study is a qualitative study about University Students’ change and growth experiences in unstructured group counseling. To explore the essential themes of active 9 students for 11 sessions, the students’ 135 papers of self-introspective reports which should be presented once a week are analyzed in phenomenological approach. The results revealed 20 themes and 7 categories that the university students’ experienced. The meaning of change and growth from the 7 categories are 4 as follows: ‘self-exposure through unexpected inner-contact’, ‘self-comprehension through active participation’, ‘interpersonal change through emotion expression’ and ‘altruistic participation and continuous growth’. From the above, availability of unstructured group counseling focusing here-and now for university students are discussed and suggested. This study is significant as it phenomenologically explored the university students’ experiences of unstructured group counseling in class and their essential meanings of change and growth they aim to accomplish.
