어머니 정서표현 수용태도와 의사소통능력이 유아의 자기조절능력에 미치는 영향

The Influence of Mother s Attitude Toward Young Children s Emotional Expression and Communication Ability on Young Children s Self-Regulation

본 연구는 어머니의 정서표현 수용태도와 의사소통능력이 유아의 자기조절능력에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 I시에 소재한 유치원 및 어린이집에 등원하는 만 3∼5세 자녀를 둔 어머니 155명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 사용하여 통계처리 하였다. 측정도구의 신뢰도 검증을 위해서 Cronbach s α 계수를 산출하였으며 Pearson의 상관분석과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 자료분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 정서표현태도와 유아의 자기조절능력 간에는 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계가 나타나지 않았으나, 어머니의 의사소통능력과 유아의 자기조절능력 간에는 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니 정서표현 수용태도를 제외한 어머니의 의사소통능력이 유아기 자녀의 자기조절능력에 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났다. 이러는 결과는 어머니의 의사소통능력이 유아기 자녀의 자기조절능력에 중요한 예측 변인임을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of mother s attitude toward young children s emotional expression and communication ability on young children s self-regulation. A survey was conducted on 155 mothers with children aged 3 to 5 who attend kindergartens and daycare centers located in I city. The collected data were analyzed using the program SPSS 25.0. Cronbach s α coefficient was estimated for the reliability of the research instruments and pearson s correlation analysis was carried out to find out the correlation between research variables. Lastly, multiple regression analysis was also performed to determine the relative influence of mother s attitude toward young children s emotional expression and communication ability on young children s self-regulation. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, there was no statistically significant correlation between the mother s attitude toward young children s emotional expression and the young children s self-regulation, but there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the mother s communication ability and the young children s self-regulation. Second, it was found that the mother s communication ability, excluding the mother s attitude toward young children s emotional expression, influences the self-regulation of early childhood children. These results suggest that the mother s communication ability is an important predictor of the young children s self-regulations.
