기호학적 접근에 기초한 유아그림책의 의미 분석 및 교육적 적용

An Educational Application and Semantic Analysis of Early Children’s Picture Books Based on a Semiotic Approach

본 연구의 목적은 기호학적 접근을 통해 그림책의 구조분석을 토대로 질문을 도출하여 유아에게 적용하고 그림책에 내포되어 있는 의미와 유아가 생성하는 의미과정을 알아보고자 한다. 분석방법은 그림책을 하나의 기호 복합체인 “이코노 텍스트”로 보고 기호학자인 Saussure, Peirce, Barther와 Greimas의 내용분석 이론을 종합하여 사용하였다. 분석 대상 그림책은「강아지 똥」과「누가 내 머리에 똥 쌌어?」이다. 연구결과, 통합체 분석을 통해 드러난 이야기 구조는 선정한 그림책 2권 모두 순환적 구조를 나타내었으며 그림책이 내포하고 있는 기호학적 의미와 다회집단 유아들의 의미생성 과정이 일치함을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to make a semiotic analysis of the contents of picture books and to evaluate how children in both single and multiple groups find meaning in them by focusing on myth analysis. For the analysis method, the picture book was viewed as an “icono text,” a symbol complex, and the content analysis theory of semiotics Saussure, Peirce, Barher and Greimas was combined and used. The picture books to be analyzed are “Puppy Poo” and “Who Pooed On My Head?”. As a result of the study, the story structure revealed through integrated analysis showed a cyclical structure in both picture books selected, and it was found that the semiotic meaning of picture books and the meaning generation process of multiple groups were consistent.
