그림표상활동을 통해 살펴본 유아들의 코로나19 상황 인식

Exploring children’s awareness of the COVID-19 situation through picture representation activities

본 연구에서는 코로나19 상황에 대해 유아들이 어떻게 인식하고 있는지 그림표상활동을 통해 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 수도권 소재 어린이집 세 곳의 만 4세 학급 유아 총 55명과 담임교사 3명을 선정하여 참여관찰과 면담을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석한 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 유아들에게 코로나19 상황은 친구들의 소중함을 일깨워주고 일상의 변화를 안겨주는 시간이었다. 또한, 코로나19 상황은 유아들에게 가족과 함께하는 시간을 많이 선물해주었고, 코로나19 상황과 관련된 놀이 주제를 주었으며, 청결한 습관을 체계적으로 배우는 기회를 제공하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 코로나19 상황을 겪고 있는 유아들의 관점을 조명해보면서 교육적 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to explore how children perceive the COVID-19 situation through picture representation activities. To this end, 55 four-year-old children and three teachers from three daycare centers in the metropolitan area were selected, and participant observation and interviews were conducted. For children, the COVID-19 situation was a time that reminded them of the importance of friends and changed their daily lives. It gave them a lot of time to spend with their families. In addition, it gave them a play topic related to the COVID-19 situation. and taught them to systematically learn clean habits. Based on the results of this study, educational implications were discussed by highlighting the perspectives of young children experiencing the COVID-19 situation.
