그림책「아가마중」에 나타나는 태교의 의미 탐색

Exploring the meaning of prenatal education in the picture book Agamajung [waiting for baby]

본 연구의 목적은 「아가마중」그림책에 나타나고 있는 태교의 의미를 탐색해봄으로써 태교에 담겨 있는 육아의 본질을 이해하는 것이다. 이를 위해 태어날 아기를 위한 준비 과정으로 엄마;아빠;할머니가 자기만의 방식으로 아기를 마중하는 내용을 담고 있는 박완서 글;김재홍 그림의 「아가마중」그림책을 분석대상으로 선정하여;본문 총 21개 장면의 글과 그림을 문학적 요소와 미술적 요소를 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과;「아가마중」그림책의 태교는 ‘자신을 바라보는 일’;‘세상과 관계 맺는 일’;‘생명을 키우는 일’로 분류되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 「아가마중」그림책의 태교는 한 가정의 차원에서 자신의 아이만 잘 키우는 일이라는 생각을 넘어서는 것이고;사회적 차원에서 아이가 행복하게 살아갈 수 있는 사회를 만들기 위한 노력이다. 그리고 아이를 키우는 부모가 태아와 사회를 바른 시각으로 바라보는 것으로;이는 교육의 근본 원리라고 볼 수 있다.

This study aims to understand the nature of childcare presented in prenatal education by examining the picture book Agamajung [Waiting for Baby]. Written by Park Wan-seo and illustrated by Kim Hae-Hong;Agamajung portrays the preparations of the mother;father;and grandmother to greet the baby in their own ways. The text and illustrations of 21 scenes were selected for literary and visual analysis. The results of the analyses revealed that Agamajung categorized prenatal education as how we see ourselves;how we relate to the world;and child rearing. In other words;prenatal education in Agamajung is about how the family not only nurtures its own children at a family level but also contributes at the societal level by developing a society in which all children can live happily. Thus;ensuring parents adopt the right attitude and approach to child rearing and society is a fundamental principle of prenatal education.
