그림책 『숲』과 『강』에 나타난 생태적 지속가능성의 의미 탐색

Reading 『A Forest』 and 『A River』 from an ecological sustainability perspective

본 연구는 숲과 강을 소재로 인간과 자연의 관계를 다룬 그림책 『숲』과 『강』을 생태적 지속가능성 관점에서 살펴보는 것이다. 생태적 지속가능성은 생태계 체계망 속에 거주하는 인간의 존재를 이해하고, 인간과 자연이 공존하는 삶을 위한 생태계와 인간의 관계를 모색하는 것이다. 분석한 결과, 첫째, 인간의 무분별한 개발을 통한 생태계 파괴와 인간과 생태계 갈등의 문제를 비판하고, 둘째, 어둡게 표현된 인간의 탐욕과 화려한 색과 선으로 자연을 묘사함으로써 대자연의 소중함을 깨우친다. 셋째, 생태적 연결망 속에서 인간을 바라보고, 인간과 자연의 상호의존적 관계를 드러내며, 넷째, 생태계 순환성을 통해 자연의 회복력과 생명의 신비로움을 그려낸다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 생태적 공동체 의식의 중요성과 자연 회복을 위한 실천적 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

This study aims to examine the relationship between nature and human society in A Forest and A River from an ecological sustainability perspective. Ecological sustainability is to understand human beings as part of an ecosystem and explore the relationship between ecosystems and humans to learn how nature and humanity can coexist. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, it criticizes ecosystem destruction and highlights the conflict between humans and ecosystems that arises from unchecked development by humans. Second, depictions of nature using brilliant colors and dynamic lines evoke the preciousness of Great Nature. Third, it views human beings as part of an ecological network, revealing the interdependent relationship between humans and nature. Fourth, and finally, it describes the resilience of nature and the mystery of life as a cyclical part of the ecosystem. Based on these results, the importance of ecological community consciousness and implementation measures for natural restoration are discussed.
