‘내가 놀고 싶은 바깥놀이터 그리기에 나타난 바깥놀이터의 의미 탐구

A study on the meaning of drawings of the playground children hope to have

본 연구는 ‘내가 놀고 싶은 바깥놀이터’ 그리기 활동을 통하여 바깥놀이터는 어떠하며 그 의미는 무엇인지를 찾아보고자 하였다. 바깥놀이가 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 P어린이집의 만 5세 유아 총 20명을 연구 참여자로 선정, 2016년 3월 말에서 5월 초까지 5차례에 걸쳐 ‘내가 놀고 싶은 바깥놀이터’라는 주제로 그림그리기 및 그림에 대한 면담을 실시하였고, 바깥놀이터 그림과 면담, 녹화자료, 연구자 일지 등의 자료를 질적 연구의 주제 범주에 의거 분석하는 과정을 거쳤다. 연구 결과, 아이들이 꿈꾸는 놀이터는 ‘열린 공간의 넓은 놀이터’, ‘길을 따라 모험을 즐기는 놀이터’, ‘도전과 안전이 공존하는 놀이터’, ‘일상이 담긴 놀이터’, ‘어울림이 있는 놀이터’로 유목화 되었으며, 이는 바깥놀이터라는 공간을 통해 아이들의 존재적 요구를 드러내는 과정이 되었다.

This study aimed to explore what children want their playground to be like and what the outdoor play space means to them, through the activity of “drawing the playground where I hope to play in. Twenty children from a class 5-year-olds in “P day care center” were recruited as participants in the “the playground where I hope to play in”, conducted over five times from the end of March to the beginning of May in 2016. They were asked to draw a picture of their ideal playground and then interviewed on their own drawings. The pictures, interviews, recording, and daily records of the work were analyzed using qualitative research methods. The findings showed that the playgrounds the children hope to have are classified into “spacious playground in the open”, “full of adventures along a path,” “challenging but safe,” “having daily life”, and “getting together with” Revealed the children’s existential demands regarding playground spaces.
