본 연구는 유아와 어머니가 함께 칠교놀이를 할 때 나타나는 어머니의 비계설정 교수전략이 유아의 연령과 교수전략의 범주에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였으며 P시에 거주하는 만 4세에서 만 8세 유아 28명과 어머니를 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 어머니와 유아가 함께 칠교놀이를 하는 장면을 촬영하여 그들의 대화를 전사하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 12.0 프로그램을 활용하여 통계처리 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아와 어머니가 함께 칠교놀이를 할 때 어머니의 비계설정 교수전략에서는 지시와 승인이 연령과 정적상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 유아의 연령이 높을수록 어머니가 승인을 많이 하였고, 승인이 발생한 발화의 경우, 어머니가 1개의 단서가 포함된 설명을 할 때 유아가 자세히 질문을 하는 경향이 있었다. 이와 같은 결과를 토대로 부모는 유아의 연령과 언어이해 수준을 고려하여 어린 유아에게는 유아의 이해여부를 잘 판단하여 이해하기 쉬운 수준의 상호작용과 비계설정이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.
The purposes of this study was to investigate the relationship between children’s age and maternal scaffolding during mother-child tangram sessions. Twenty-eight children between the ages of 4 and 8 years, along with their mothers, were recruited as research participants from daycare centers in Busan. Mother-child interaction during the tangram sessions was videotaped and maternal utterances were transcribed for analysis of maternal scaffolding. Individual sessions of child tangram were videotaped and children’s utterances were also transcribed. Maternal scaffolding was analyzed after being classified into subcategories. The statistical methods used for data analysis were frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviations, t test, and Pearson’s product moment correlation coeffcient. Considering the abovementioned research goals, the following research question were established: Research Question 2: During the mother tangram sessions. what type of scaffolding teaching technique is the mothers? 1. Is there a meaningful correlation between the age of the child and the mother’s scaffolding teaching technique? 2. Is there a meaningful correlation between the scaffolding category and the mother’s scaffolding teaching technique? The major findings were as follows: 1. There was a significant difference in maternal scaffolding during dyad sessions according to age, revealing that mothers’ use of instruction and approval increased with the children’s age. 2. Mother’s remarks of approval increased with the age of the children. In instances where the mothers verbalized approval, namely when the mothers provided an explanation along with a clue, there was a tendency for children to interact by asking detailed questions.
