그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동 적용과정에 나타난 유아의 몰입행동

Young children’s flow behaviors during music drama activities using picture books

본 연구는 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동 적용 과정에서 나타난 유아의 몰입행동을 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 참여자는 어린이집 만 5세반 유아 총 23명이었으며, 유아들은 12주 동안 총 18회의 음악극 활동에 참여하였다. 자료 수집은 현장 관찰과 면담으로 이루어졌으며, 전사한 원자료 중심으로 반복되는 주제를 발견하면서 내용 추출을 위해 개방코딩을 적용하여 귀납적 자료 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 유아의 몰입행동은 “리듬에 따라 조절된 몸짓보이기”, “자발적 도취되기”, “지속 및 확장하기”, “미리 발견하면서 즐기기”, “협력 속에서 사회적 관계 맺기”가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동이 유아 스스로 자발적 경험을 하는 가운데 몰입상태에 진입할 수 있는 의미있는 교육적 상황으로 활용될 수 있음을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the flow behaviors of young children during the application of music drama activities using picture books. To this end, 18 sessions of music drama activities were conducted with 23 children aged 5 at a child care center. The children were participant in observation and interviews in the classroom. This study used open coding to extract relevant content as recurring themes were discovered and inductive content analysis was conducted. Flow behaviors observed in the young children throughout the process included “matching movements with rhythm,” “continuing and expanding,” “engaging voluntarily,” “preemptively discovering and enjoying,” and “cooperating and building social relationships” Using these results, this study discussed the potential application of music drama activities using picture books as a meaningful alternative teaching-learning method in flow behaviors.
