영아와 전래동요의 만남이 갖는 의미

The meaningful experiences toddlers acquire in traditional korean children’s songs

본 연구는 영아의 일상생활에서 전래동요와의 만남이 갖는 의미를 탐구하는 질적 연구이다. 2013년 7월부터 2013년 12월까지 ‘곤지곤지, 잼잼, 도리도리, 짝짝꿍, 아함아함, 질라자비훨훨’의 전래아기노래와 이 기간 동안의 표준보육과정의 생활주제와 관련된 전래동요를 만남으로 경험하는 상황에 대해 참여관찰, 동영상촬영, 녹음을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구자는 수집된 내용을 전사하고 반복적으로 점검하며 반성적 저널을 작성하였다. 연구결과, 영아에게 전래동요와의 만남은 ‘되풀이의 즐거움’과 ‘마음 다스림’, ‘장단이 주는 편안함과 신명남’, ‘함께하는 호흡’임을 알 수 있었다. 전래동요와의 만남은 영아가 우리의 정서를 가진 온전한 인간으로, 그리고 다른 사람과 관계 맺는 사람다운 사람으로 살아갈 힘을 길러 주었다. 이에 본 연구는 전래동요와의 만남이 영아의 자연스럽고 자발적인 성장을 이끄는 생태적인 의의가 있음을 논의하였다.

This study qualitatively investigates the meaning of experience encountered traditional children s songs in everyday life for toddlers. Data was collected from July to December 2013 through participant observation, video recording, and sound recordings of toddlers experiences of traditional Korean children s songs such as GonjiGonji, Jaemjaem, Doridori, Jjakjjakkkung, Ahamaham, Jillajabihwolhwol and others related to the theme of life proposed in the Standard Child Care Curriculum. A reflective journal was written and transcribed and the collected data was checked repeatedly. The findings of this study were that the meaning the toddlers experienced when they encountered traditional Korean songs for toddlers included ‘the pleasure of repetition’, ‘mind control through songs’, ‘comfort and excitement provided by the rhythm’, and ‘actually working with breathing’. Encountering traditional songs developed the toddlers ability to share the national sentiments of Korea and live as honest people who build good relationships with others. Accordingly, in this study, we discussed how the abovementioned experiences affect positively the biological development of toddlers.
