지상파 어린이 애니메이션에 나타난 미디어 공격성 분석

Aggression analysis in animations for children on terrestrial broadcasting

본 연구는 지상파에서 방영된 어린이 애니메이션에서 나타난 공격성을 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 분석 자료는 지상파 방송사인 EBS, KBS1, KBS2, MBC, SBS에서 2012년 11월 1일부터 11월 15일까지 방송된 어린이 애니메이션 프로그램으로 2주 동안 방송된 프로그램 수는 57편이었다. 수집된 자료는 공격성의 내용, 공격 캐릭터, 공격 상황을 미디어 공격성 분석에 사용되는 PAT(Perpetrator Action Target) 분석을 통해 분석되었다. 연구결과는 첫째, 7세 이상 관람가에서는 거의 매 에피소드 당 공격성이 나타났으며, 한 에피소드 안에서도 모든 연령 관람가에 비해 공격성이 많이 나타났다. 둘째, 모든 연령 관람가와 7세 이상 관람가 모두 신체적 공격성이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 공격성 묘사에 있어 모든 연령 관람가에서는 대부분 현실적으로 묘사되었으나 7세 이상 관람가의 경우 모든 연령 관람가보다 비현적으로 묘사되는 경우가 월등히 많았다. 셋째, 공격 캐릭터 성별은 모든 연령 관람가와 7세 이상 관람가 모두 남성이 많았으나 7세 이상 관람가의 경우 여성과 남성이 비슷하게 나타났다. 또한 공격자와 피해자의 관계는 두 연령 모두 친구관계가 가장 많이 나타났다. 넷째, 모든 연령 관람가와 7세 이상 관람가 모두 공격의 상황적 요소들이 유사하게 나타났으나 특징적으로 공격의 결과에서 모든 연령 관람가의 경우 간과되는 경우를 제외하고는 처벌 받는 경우가 많았으나 7세 이상 관람가의 경우 처벌보다 보상을 더 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this research is to analyze aggression in animations for children on terrestrial broadcasting. The data were taken from 57 animations on terrestrial broadcasting—KBS1, KBS2, MBC, SBS—for two weeks and then analyzed by Perpetrator Action Target(PAT) which is used to analyze media aggression. The analyzed material included aggressive contents, aggressive characters, and aggressive situations. First, a rating of 7 showed aggression in almost every episode, more than appropriate for a G rating. Second, ratings of both G and 7 showed the highest frequency in physical aggression. The G rating tended to express realistic aggression, while the 7 rating tended to express less realistic aggression. Third, the aggressive characters were more male than female in both the G and 7 ratings, but in the 7 rating, aggressive male and female characters appeared with similar frequency. In addition, in both G and 7 ratings, the relationship between aggressive and victim characters was most frequently one of friendship. Fourth, G and 7 ratings tended to show similar levels of aggressive situations. However, the G rating distinctly showed the highest frequency of punishment except for connivance, while the 7 rating showed reward more than punishment.
