A Study on Parents Awareness of the Childcare Environment: Focusing on Busan

본 연구는 육아환경에 대한 부모의 인식을 자연환경, 가정문화환경, 사회문화환경, 교육기관환경의 측면에서 살펴보고, 부모가 인식하는 육아환경의 개선 요구를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 부산광역시 유아교육기관 유치원 3곳과 어린이집 3곳 총6곳의 기관에 있는 부모를 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 부산광역시의 육아환경 중 자연환경에 있어서 가장 위험한 환경으로 도로를 꼽았고, 자녀들의 주요 놀이공간은 집안으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가정문화환경에 있어서 부모님과의 외출 장소는 시장 및 백화점이 가장 높았고, 다음으로 친척집이라고 나타났다. 셋째, 사회문화환경에 있어서 자녀가 주로 이용하는 사회문화환경과 자녀가 선호하는 사회문화환경이 모두 대형마트가 가장 많았고, 주로 차타고 15분 이하의 거리로 나타났다. 넷째, 유아교육기관 환경에 있어서 필요한 환경으로는 실외환경이 가장 필요하다고 보았다. 다섯째, 부모가 인식하는 육아환경의 개선 요구는 교통안전에 대한 지원, 영유아를 위한 공간 및 행사 강화, 놀고 체험할 수 있는 자연환경 마련, 신뢰와 관계가 기초된 육아분위기 형성 4가지로 분석되었다.

This study examined parents awareness of the childcare environment from the perspectives of the natural environment, family cultural environment, social and cultural environment, and educational institutional environment, and analyzed the need to improve the childcare environment in parents s view. The subjects of the study were parents of children in three kindergartens and three day care centers in Busan. The results of this study are as follows. First, for the natural environment among the childcare environments in Busan, residential apartment areas were mainly the highest; the most dangerous facilities, were roads. Regarding children s main playing space, houses were played in most frequently. The most frequent locations to go out with parents and with other children in the family cultural environment were markets and department stores, respectively, expenditure of educational cost and physical quantity of books. On the other hand, responses reporting nature and relatives house were quote similar. Third, in the social and cultural environment, the social and cultural environment that children mainly used or preferred was a major supermarket within 15 minutes drive. Fourth, for an environment necessary in childcare educational institutions, an outdoor environment was found to be the most necessary. Fifth, there were four improvements to the childcare environment that could be made, as recognized by parents; these were support for transportation safety, improvement of space and festivals for children, preparation of the natural environment so the children could play and have experiences in nature, and the formation of the childcare atmosphere based on confidence and a positive relationship.
