어린이집 장학프로그램에 대한 원장과 교사의 인식 및 요구도

The Awareness and Needs of Childcare Center Principals and Teachers for the Development of Supervision Programs

본 연구는 어린이집 장학프로그램에 대한 원장과 교사의 인식 및 요구도를 알아봄으로써 이에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고, 어린이집 현장의 질적 개선을 도모하는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 연구대상은 부산광역시와 경상남도 내에 소재한 어린이집에서 근무하고 있는 원장 200명과 교사 230명을 임의표집하여 선정하였고 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어린이집 장학에 대한 인식 및 실태를 살펴본 결과 어린이집 장학에 대한 인식은 원장과 교사 모두 ‘어느 정도 알고 있다’가 가장 높게 나타났고(62.0%), 장학 관련 연수 및 보수 경험 여부는 원장과 교사 모두 ‘받은 적 없음’이 가장 높게 나타났으며(58.1%), 어린이집의 장학 실시 방법은 원장과 교사 모두 ‘약식장학’이 가장 높게 나타났다(30.6%). 또한 어린이집 장학을 실시하지 않는 이유에 대하여 원장은 ‘장학에 대한 이해가 부족해서’를 가장 높게 인식했지만(31.1%), 교사는 ‘어린이집 장학에 대한 제도가 마련되어 있지 않아서’를 가장 높게 인식하였다(48.2). 둘째, 어린이집 원장과 교사의 장학프로그램 개발에 대한 요구도의 차이를 살펴본 결과 어린이집 장학프로그램의 필요 정도, 실시 방법, 계획 및 운영자, 장학 담당자 및 어린이집 장학프로그램 개발을 위한 국가, 지방자치단체, 어린이집 차원의 노력에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타났으나, 장학의 내용, 실시 주기에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이를 토대로 본 연구에서는 어린이집 장학프로그램에 대한 원장과 교사의 인식과 요구도를 중심으로 중요성과 필요성을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness and needs of childcare center principals and teachers for the development of supervision programs in an attempt to provide some information on the development of childcare center supervision programs and the qualitative improvement of childcare centers. The subjects in this study were 200 principals and 230 teachers who were selected by random sampling from the childcare centers located in the city of Busan and the South Gyeongsang Province. The findings of the study were as follows: first, as a result of investigating their awareness of supervision and its current state, the majority of principals and teachers replied that they were aware of childcare center supervision to some extent(62.0%). Regarding supervision-related training and supplementary education experiences, the largest group of principals and teachers never took training courses nor received supplementary education on that subject(30.6%). Concerning the reason why supervision wasn t conducted, the largest group of principals cited poor understanding of supervision as the reason(31.1%), whereas the biggest group of teachers pointed out the lack of a childcare center supervision system(48.2%). Second, as a result of checking any possible differences between the principals and teachers in the need for the development of supervision programs, there were significant intergroup gaps in opinions on the necessity of childcare center supervision programs, methods of supervision, planning/operator, supervisors and efforts by the national and local governments and childcare centers for the development of supervision programs. However no significant intergroup differences were found in their views of the content and cycle of supervision. The importance and necessity of the development of childcare center supervision programs was discussed based on the awareness of the principals and teachers and their needs.
