세 명의 초임교사가 경험한 공립유치원의 3월 이야기

Three Beginning Teachers public Kindergarten Experience in March

본 연구는 처음 임용된 교사가 3월 한 달 동안 유치원에서 어떠한 경험을 하는지 알아보고자 수행하였다. 본 연구의 참여자는 2010년 국가임용고시를 통해 선발된 국공립유치원 교사 3명이다. 연구결과, 첫째, 초임교사는 갑자기 부여된 담임교사라는 역할로 인해 심리적인 부담을 가지며, 교사인 현실을 회피하려는 모습과 초임교사로서 자격지심을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자신의 힘든 교직입문시기에 자신을 도와주는 선배교사에 대해 고마운 마음을 가지며, 선배교사를 든든한 후원자로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 초임교사는 유아, 동료선배교사, 보조교사, 부모 등으로 인해 교직생활의 어려움을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 연구의 결과는 교사로서 처음 부임하여 맞이한 3월이 초임교사에게 설레임, 기대, 즐거움, 기쁨, 보람이 아닌 힘듦, 어려움, 두려움으로 기억되며 교직이라는 망망대해에서 살아남기 위한 처절한 생존본능을 발휘하는 시기로서 교사로서의 어렵고도 힘든 그러나 의미 있는 큰 한걸음이라는 것을 알 수 있었다.

This study intended to determine the experiences of a beginning teacher in the month of March at public kindergarten. The participants in this study were three public and private kindergarten teachers who were selected by national evaluation in 2010. First, the beginning teacher had a psychological burden because of the sudden assumption of the role of a classroom teacher, and evaded his duty as a teacher and guilty consciousness as a beginning teacher. Second, they thanked the senior teacher who helped them during the introductory period, and recognized the senior teacher as a strong sponsor. Third, the beginning teacher experienced difficulties in his work life because of relationship with infant, senior teacher, support teacher, and parents. The result of the research shows that the beginning teacher s March did not involve excitement, expectation, pleasure, and value, but rather difficulty and fear. During this period, the teacher survives in the teaching profession, which is a difficult but meaningful step as a teacher.
