경북 문경시 다문화가정의 결혼과 양육 실태

A Study on the Status of Child Rearing and Marriage in the Multi-Cultural Families in MunGyeong-Shi, Gyeong Buk

본 연구는 경상북도 문경지역 다문화가정의 실태를 파악하고 이들에 대한 정책지원방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 경상북도 문경시에 거주하며 2008년 현재 함께 살고 있는 모든 한국인 남편과 외국인 부인으로, 그 중 조사에 응한 사람은 각각 142명과 153명이다. 조사내용은 결혼생활전반에 관한 인식, 복지욕구에 관한 실태 등이다. 분석결과 첫째, 80%이상이 10년 이내에 결혼하였고, 한국인 남편의 경우 40대가, 외국인 부인의 경우 30대가 가장 많았고, 월소득이 150만원이 안 되는 저소득가구가 절반이상이었다. 둘째, 가족생활 스트레스는 ‘자녀 일로 인한 고민’이 가장 높았다. 문화적 차이는 ‘식습관’에서 가장 크게 느끼고 있었다. 셋째, 부부갈등은 의사소통에서 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였다. 넷째, 자녀와의 대화 빈도는 외국인 부인이 훨씬 높게 나타났으며, 자녀양육에 가장 어려움을 겪는 사항은 경제적인 부담이었다.

The purpose of this study is to survey the general status of multi-cultural families in MunGyeong-shi, Gyeong Buk, and to provide support system to help them. The subjects in this study were 142 Korean husbands who married interracial family-immigrant women, and 153 foreign wives. The survey focuses on the general status of married life, fathers awareness of their children, and their needs and demands for social welfare. Results are as follows. First, over 80% of interracial marriage couples married within the last 10 years; Most Korean husbands are in their forties and the most interracial family-immigrant women are in their thirties, and more than half the interracial families were considered of low income, earning under 1,500,000 won a month. Second, family life stress of foreign wives is primarily related to the issues of their children. Foreign wives feel there is a big cultural difference in eating habits . Third, the highest conflict among interracial familes involved communication problem, the next being economic difficulties. Finally, the frequency of communication between foreign wife and their children is much higher. Also the greatest difficulty in children rear has been economic burden.
