유아를 위한 지속가능발전교육 방안 연구

Implementation Strategy for Early Childhood Education for Sustainable Development

본 연구에서는 유아를 위한 지속가능발전교육의 특징과 교수학습방법을 탐색하였고 유아교육현장에서 지속가능발전교육을 정착시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 유아를 위한 지속가능발전교육은 환경, 사회, 경제 측면을 고려하여 유아들의 지속가능발전교육에 대한 지식, 태도 및 실천적 행동의 발달을 목표로 하고 있다. 유아를 위한 지속가능발전교육의 학습내용으로는 전 세계적으로 공통된 주제뿐만 아니라 각 지역의 특수한 상황에 필요한 학습주제를 포함하는 것이 필요하다. 지속가능발전교육의 효율적인 교수학습을 위해 통합교육과정, 경험학습과 현장학습을 적용할 수 있다. 또한 지속가능발전교육을 유아교육현장에 정착시키기 위하여 지속가능발전적인 유치원 기관운영과 교육과정을 도입하는 것이 중요하며, 지역사회와의 긴밀한 협력 체제를 구축하는 것이 필요하다. 유아를 위한 지속가능발전교육을 위해 교사교육의 강화와 교육방법, 학습 자료의 개발이 필요하며, 관련된 연구 활동을 장려하고, 성공교육사례를 발굴하여 우수 프로그램을 공유할 수 있는 네트워크의 구축이 필요하다.

This study examined the characteristics and the teaching and learning methods of early childhood education for sustainable development. Also, it investigated ways in which education for sustainable development could settle in the early years institutions. While taking the environment, society, and economy into consideration, early childhood education for sustainable development must focus on improving children s knowledge, attitudes, and practices. For the effective teaching and learning of early childhood education for sustainable development, learning by experience and field learning can be used. The content of early childhood education for sustainable development needs to be changed and the curriculum needs to be implemented in early years institutions. The study suggests that in order to achieve an effective means for Education for sustainable development, there must be close cooperation among early years institutions, parents and the local communities is emphasized. This study stresses that the development of teacher education, teaching methods and learning resources are in urgent. Moreover, it is necessary to encourage research dealing with childhood education for sustainable development.
