다문화 교육에 대한 유아교육기관 학부모의 인식

A Study on the Familiarity of Early Childhood Education Parents with Multicultural Education

본 연구의 목적은 다문화 교육에 대한 유아교육기관 학부모의 인식을 알아봄으로써, 앞으로 유아교육기관에서 다문화 교육의 바람직한 방향을 설정해 보고자 하는데 있다. 이를 위해 유아교육기관 학부모를 대상으로 「다문화 교육에 대한 인식」을 알아보기 위해 구성한 설문지를 배부․회수한 후 205부를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 학부모들의 다문화 교육에 대한 이해 정도는 보통으로 나타났으며 다문화 교육의 필요성에 대한 인식은 높게 나타났다. 학부모의 배경변인인 연령, 학력, 다문화 교육 경험 유무, 직업 및 유아교육기관 유형에 따른 인식의 차이에서는 다문화 교육 경험이 있는 집단이, 경험이 없는 집단보다 긍정적인 인식을 나타냈으며 다른 변인에서는 유의미한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 유아교육기관의 다문화 교육을 위해서는 유아뿐만 아니라 학부모들을 대상으로 한 다문화 교육의 경험도 함께 제공해야 할 필요성을 제시한다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the familiarity of early childhood education parents with multicultural education and multicultural education at childcare centers and to provide basic information on the multicultural education program model. 205 early childhood education parents were sampled. The research instruments used in this study were a questionnaire developed by this researcher through literature review, preliminary study and validity analysis. The questionnaire was designed to measure parents familiarity with multicultural education. The results were as follows: First, the parents familiarith with multicultural was found to include a typical understanding but their perception of its necessity was found to be above average. Second, there were significant differences in parents familiarity with multicultural education according to their experience with it. However, there were no significant defferences in parents familiarity with multicultural education according to their age, educational level or job nor with the type of childcare center.
