숲유치원의 다양한 운영형태에 관한 연구

A Study of Various Management Types of the Forest Kindergarten

본 연구는 숲유치원의 다양한 운영형태에 대하여 고찰하는데 있다. 이를 위해 독일과 스위스의 숲유치원 중 전형적인 숲유치원, 놀이활동 영역이 숲속에 배치된 숲유치원, 주말농장을 활용한 숲유치원, 동작교육의 본보기로써 숲유치원 그리고 유·초연계 교육의 모델로써 스위스 샹갈렌(St. Gallen) 숲유치원 및 숲학교의 교육적 초안 및 특징을 살펴보았다. 연구결과 각 숲유치원들은 교사와 학부모의 자연친화적인 유아교육관과 지역특성에 따라 매우 독창적이고 다양한 형태로 교육적 특징을 나타내며 운영되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 한국에서도 자연친화적인 유아교육을 실천하고, 우리나라 실정에 적합한 숲체험교육을 실천하고자 노력하는 유아교육현장의 종사자들에게 많은 가능성과 시사점을 주고 있다.

The purpose of the study is to examine various management types of the forest kindergarten. Among the forest kindergartens in Germany, I have visited and studied a typical forest kindergarten, a forest kindergarten with the play area in the forest, a forest kindergarten with a weekend farm, a model forest kindergarten for activity education, and St. Gallen s Forest Kindergarten and Forest School in Swiss as a model for the coordinated education between kindergarten and primary school. The results of the study show that each forest kindergarten in Germany and Swiss was creatively and variously founded and managed in accordance with local characteristics and its teachers and parents eco-friendly views of education. The results give many suggestions and possibilities to the workers in the field of early childhood education who would like to found and manage the forest kindergartens suitable for Korea.
