동화에 나타난 탈북아동의 남한사회 적응 연구

A Study of the Social Adaptation Process for Young Korean Refugees Represented in Children s Storybooks

본 연구는 탈북아동의 남한사회 적응 과정에서의 문제와 어려움을 해석하고 이해하는데 도움을 얻고, 이를 기반으로 다가올 통일 사회의 준비를 위한 시사점을 얻기 위하여 탈북아동을 주제로 다루고 있는 네 권의 동화를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 이들 작품들은 탈북아동들의 험난한 탈북과정에서부터 예견되는 남한사회 적응의 어려움과, 이들이 남한사회가 보이는 배타적인 태도 및 언어와 학업적 측면에서의 주된 문제들을 겪고 있다는 점, 그리고 새로운 관계 맺기를 통해 남한사회에 적응하려는 이들의 노력을 드러내고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해, 연구대상 동화들에서 전반적으로 드러나는 북한에 대한 시혜자적 관점과 민족적 동질성에 대한 고민이 요구되며, 남북한 서로의 이해차를 줄이고 그 바탕 위에서 공존 공영할 수 있는 자세를 기를 수 있는 방안으로서 탈북아동들과 남한아동들의 진정한 만남을 준비하기 위한 구체적인 통일교육이 필요하다 본다.

This study investigated 4 children s stories in order to reveal how young Korean young refugees social adaptation was depicted on them. In these stories, it is revealed that the young Korean refugees have troubled with language and academic performance, and that South Korean society has taken the exclusive attitude for them. The stories review some ways to adapt through forming new relationships. But these stories remain with a view of favorer, and might show children s life from a exclusive perspective for the North Korea. Therefore, it is necessary that followed in the literature: emphasizing warm and humane factors for the South Korea; respecting of the difference between the North and South for the peaceful relationship; drawing the sympathy and apprehension through the literary inspiration.
