통합적 요가 프로그램이 어린이의 정서지능, 환경에 대한 감수성 및 태도에 미치는 영향 연구

A Study on the Effects of Holistic Yoga Program on Emotional Quotient, Environmental, Sensitivity and Environmental Attitude

본 연구는 어린이들을 대상으로 요가의 다양한 기법들을 이용한 ‘통합적 요가 프로그램’을 실시하여, 정서지능, 환경에 대한 감수성과 환경에 대한 태도에 미치는 변화를 살펴보아, 정서교육과 환경 교육에 요가가 적용될 수 있는 가능성을 살펴보고자 실시하였다. 통합적 요가 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 정서지능, 환경에 대한 감수성과 환경에 대한 태도를 측정하는 설문지를 프로그램 적용 전과 후에 실험집단과 통제집단에 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1차 프로그램 실시 결과, 실험집단은 정서지능, 환경에 대한 감수성, 환경에 대한 태도에서 모두 긍정적인 변화가 있었으며, 이중 정서지능과 환경에 대한 감수성은 실험집단과 통제집단 간에 유의미한 차이가 있었으나 환경에 대한 태도에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 2차 프로그램 실시 결과, 실험집단은 정서지능, 환경에 대한 감수성, 환경에 대한 태도에서 모두 긍정적인 변화가 있었으며, 실험집단과 통제집단 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이는 ‘통합적 요가프로그램’은 어린이들의 정서지능, 환경에 대한 감수성, 환경에 대한 태도를 긍정적으로 변화시키는 데 매우 유용하다는 것을 보여주었다.

This study aims to find out the effect of Holistic Yoga Program consisted of the various yoga techniques on the Emotional Quotient, the Environmental Sensitivity and the Environmental Attitude. This study examines the possibility of Holistic Yoga Program to be adopted in the area of the culture of esthetic sentiments and the environmental education. The study selected 25 students of an elementary school in North Jeolla Province. 11 students formed an experimental group, and 18 students became a non-treatment control group. The Holistic Yoga Program consisted of the twenty-five sessions (two times a year). One session spent one and a half hour, however there were no sessions for the control group. In order to verify the effect of the Holistic Yoga Program , four assessment were carried out : before the start of the program, and some time after the program ended. The tool used to measure was Emotional Quotient Inventory, Environmental Sensitivity Inventory and Environmental Attitude Inventory. The statistical analysis program SPSS 14.0 version for Window was used, and ANCOVA was applied for the analysis. This study exhibited the following results. First, upon the completion of the first program, Emotional Quotient, Environmental Sensitivity and Environmental Attitude of the experimental group were increased. Emotional Quotient and Environmental Sensitivity of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the non-treatment control group, however Environmental Attitude was not significantly higher than that of the non-treatment control group. Second, upon the completion of the second program, Emotional Quotient, Environmental Sensitivity and Environmental Attitude of the experimental group were increased. Emotional Quotient, Environmental Sensitivity and Environmental Attitude of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the non-treatment control group. The significance of this study proved that the Holistic Yoga Program consisted of postures, breathing exercises, relaxation, meditation and various activity based on yogic sprit has changed the Emotional Quotient, the Environmental Sensitivity and the Environmental Attitude of the elementary school students positively. Consequently, the Holistic Yoga Program can be actively utilized for the culture of esthetic sentiments and the environmental education.
