뉴 노멀-교육의 비판적 담론 분석을 통한 국어교육의 방향 모색

Critical Discourse Analysis on the New Normal-Education and Implications on Korean Language Education

이 연구는 뉴 노멀과 교육의 관계를 다룬 뉴스를 분석 자료로 삼아 교육 분야의 뉴 노멀에 대한 사회적 인식을 비판적 담론 분석의 방법으로 검토하였다. 뉴 노멀-교육 담론의 주제를 현실 인식, 교육적 대응, 미래 전망으로 나눈 후, 각 차원의 담론 구성을 텍스트 층위, 담론적 실천 층위, 사회문화적 실천 층위로 나눠 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 텍스트 층위에서 이 담론은 코로나, 위기, 온라인, 원격, 기술, 변화, 미래 등의 어휘, 위기는 곧 기회, 비정상화의 정상화, 결코 돌아갈 수없는 과거라는 표현, 르네상스를 꽃피운 흑사병, 미네르바 스쿨 등의 인용을 통해 코로나19 팬데믹의 재난을 기회로 묘사하고 위기를 극복할 교육 방법을 부각하며 팬데믹 이후의 미래 교육을 전망하고 있으며, 둘째, 담론적 실천 층위에서 이 담론은 금융위기의 뉴 노멀 담론, 원격 교육 담론, 4차 산업혁명 담론과 결합하고 있으며, 셋째, 사회문화적 실천 층위에서 이 담론은 재난의 실용성, 원격 교육의 혁신성, 미래 교육의 순응성을 팬데믹 시대의 교육적 태도로 자연화한다는 점을 확인하였다. 이상의 분석 결과는 팬데믹 이후의 국어교육을 모색하는 데 있어 뉴 노멀에 기반을 둔 국어교육 논의의 인식 조건을 확인하고 이에 대한 성찰적 시각을 확보한다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

This paper aims to study the social awareness of new normal in education through critical discourse analysis on news articles featuring the relationship between new normal and education. The followings are examined. First, in an aspect of textual practice, new normal-education discourse is primarily focusing on describing COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity, emphasizing instructional method to overcome the crisis ans proposing prospects of future education after the pandemic. Second, in an aspect of discourse practice, this discourse is intertwined with the 2008 financial crisis-new normal discourse, distance education discourse and fourth industrial revolution discourse. Lastly, in an aspect of social practice, it is identified that practicality of disaster, innovativeness of distance education and conformity of future education are naturalized as an educational attitude towards the pandemic. The analysis results were meaningful in that it shows the recognition conditions of Korean language education based on new normal and secures a reflective perspective on it.
