Educational Politics: Theorization and Analysis of Philosophy of Science and Research Methodology Issues

이론화과정의 성공적 수행과 관련 연구결과의 집적은 개별 학문의 위상과 지위를 결정하는 필요충분조건이다. 그러나 이러한 중차대한 필요성과 당위론적 중요성에도 불구하고 국내ㆍ외를 막론하고 교육정치학 분야 내에서의 이론화과정에 대한 활발한 학문 담론이나 관련 연구는 거의 전무한 상황이다. 통상, 이론화과정은 출발 단계로서 이론의 정의와 유형 및 역할 기능 정립, 과정 단계로서 이론 생성 구축 방안 탐구와 연구전략 및 방법론 설계, 종착 단계로서 이론의 개선ㆍ발달 촉진을 위한 환류평가의 문제로 귀착된다. 본 논문은 이론화과정의 시작점인 이론의 정의와 유형 및 역할, 실행 단계인 이론 구축 방안 등에 논의의 주안점을 둔다. 추가적으로, 본 논문은 이론화과정의 참조기제의 역할을 담당하는 과학철학과 연구방법론 관련 쟁점도 확인해보고자 한다. 이를 위해서 본 논문은 사회학, 경영학, 조직이론, 교육학, 심리학, 과학철학, 연구방법론 분야 등에서 전개된 다양한 이론화 관련 논의를 차용한다.

Successful execution of the theorizing process and the accumulation of related research results are necessary and sufficient conditions for determining the status and position of individual disciplines. However, despite this critical necessity and justifiable importance, there is barely any proactive academic discourse or related research on theorizing process in the field of educational politics in Korea. This article focuses on analysing the definition, type and role of the theory, which is the starting point of the theorizing process, and the method of constructing the theory, which is the stage of implementation. Also, this paper intends to identify debating issues related to the philosophy of science and research methodology, which play the main role of a reference framework in the theorizing process. To this end, this thesis borrows various theorization-related discussions developed in the fields of sociology, administration, organizational theory, education, psychology, philosophy of science, and research methodology.
