Some Reflection on Artificial Intelligence and Moral Responsibility

자연지능을 따라 구현된 인공지능은 인간에 의해 제작되고 시스템화 되었다는 점을보면 결정된 대상이다. 결정된 대상인 한 인공지능은 자신의 행동에 대해 도덕적 책임을 지지 않는다. 결정된 대상으로서 인공지능은 다르게 행동할 수 없고, 다르게 행동할 수 없다면 도덕적 책임을 질 이유가 없기 때문이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 사람들은 인공지능이 학대나 폭력의 대상이 될 때 그에 대한 거부감 또는 분노의 반응을 보인다. 인공지능에 대한 이러한 반응적 태도는 인공지능이 적어도 우리에게 도덕적 책임의 대상이 되는 이유를 제공한다.

Artificial intelligence embodied on the base of natural intelligence is an object determined by the fact that it is made and systematized by humans. As long as it is determined, artificial intelligence does not take moral responsibility for its actions. This is because artificial intelligence cannot act otherwise as a determined object, and there is no reason to take moral responsibility if it cannot act otherwise. Nevertheless, people react with rejection or resent when artificial intelligence is subject to abuse or violence. This reactive attitude toward artificial intelligence provides us with at least the reason why artificial intelligence is subject to our moral responsibility.
