이 글은 논리의 정확성과 엄밀성을 요구하는 학문적 언어로서 부적합하다고 생각되는 은유가 교육적 전달을 위한 언어 사용 방식이라는 점을 해명하기 위한 연구이다. 교육이 인간 형성을 위한 실천인 만큼, 그것은 전달자가 언어를 통해 피전달자의 사고의 변화와 존재의 변화를 초래하는 전달 행위이다. 그리고 은유는 그 전달을 효과적으로 가능하게 만드는 언어 사용 방식이다. 이점을 해명하기 위해서 은유에 관한 아리스토텔레스와 니체의 견해를 간략하게 고찰하였다. 아리스토텔레스에게 은유는 전혀 관련이 없어 보이는 두 대상 사이에 유사성을 찾는 것이다. 은유에 내재한 갈등과 모순을 해소하는 과정에서 새로운 개념을 포섭하고 우리의 지식체계에 변화가 생겨난다. 이것은 은유가 사고의 변화를 위한 언어 사용 방식이라는 점을 드러낸다. 한편, 니체에게 은유는 고착화된 개념의 그물망에 빠지지 않고 형이상학(메타피직스)을 극복하기 위한 언어 사용 방식이다. 이것은 은유가 한 차원 높은 삶의 경지로 우리를 안내하는 일이라는 점을 명백히 드러내고 있다. 마지막으로, 니체의 은유는 메타피직스가 이미 확립된 것으로가정하고 있는 인간 형성을 실제적 차원에서 설명한다는 점에서 메타프락시스의 전달이론에 비추어 조명될 필요가 있다.
The metaphor, regarded as an inappropriate concept in terms of logical rigor and precision in the academic field, needs to be re-established as the educational language in transmission. As education is a human formation activity, through language, the sender and receiver are in a continual process of becoming. Metaphor is a transmission method reflecting the transformative possibilities of language. To elucidate this point, Aristotle s and Nietzsche s views on metaphor are briefly considered. For Aristotle, metaphor is the search for similarities between two seemingly unrelated objects. In resolving the conflicts and contradictions inherent in metaphors, new concepts are embraced and changes are made to our knowledge system. This reveals that metaphor is a way of using language to change thinking. On the other hand, for Nietzsche, metaphor is a way of using language to overcome metaphysics without falling into the web of fixed concepts. Nietzsche’s metaphor gives educational implications of human becoming in the practical context in light of transmission theory in metapraxis and leads us to a level of life that we did not realize possible.
