세월호 참사 희생 자녀를 둔 부모 경험에 관한 연구

A Study on Parental Experience with the loss of a child from the Ferry Sewol Disaster: Focusing on traumatic experiences

본 연구는 세월호 참사 희생 자녀를 둔 부모 7명이 구술한 증언록을 중심으로 이들 경험의 총체적의미를 분석하여, 사회복지실천 영역에서 세월호 침몰 사고 등과 같은 사회적 재난으로 인해 고통 받는유가족들을 지지, 지원하기 위해 필요한 시사점을 찾는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 이 연구는Krippendorff(2004)가 제시한 질적내용분석 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, ‘날벼락 같은 사고 소식’, ‘어리둥절한 사고 진위 파악’, ‘자녀 생사 확인의 외줄타기’, ‘무능력한 구조활동’, ‘믿을 수없는 정부와 세상에 대한 분노와 실망’, ‘무너진 일상 생활’, ‘아이 상실이 야기하는 다양한 감정적 갈래’, ‘트라우마적 증후’, ‘비틀려진 사회적 관계’, ‘살아야 할 이유’, ‘변화된 삶의 태도’, ‘위로가 되는 것들’이란 13가지 범주를 도출할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 사회복지 실천 영역에 필요한 시사점과 제언방안을제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to support those suffering from social disaster accidents in the field of social welfare practice, based on all the overall parental experience with the loss of their child from the Ferry Sewol sinking. To achieve these research objectives, this study analyzes oral testimony of seven parents with children affected by the death of the Ferry Sewol sinking accident according to the six-step qualitative content analysis method of Kripendorff (2004). As a result of the analysis, The top categories contain ‘sudden and euexpected accident news’, ‘confirming the authenticity of the accident’, ‘limitations on confirming the life or death of a child’, ‘incompetent rescue activities’, ‘anger and disappointment at an unbelievable government and world’, ‘watching my child s dead body’, ‘broken daily life’, ‘the various emotional ramifications of child loss’, ‘traumatic symptoms’, ‘twisted social relations’, ‘reason to live’, ‘changed attitudes of life’, and ‘comforting things’. This study is able to obtain the following implications through the above research results.
