보호대상아동이 경험하는 주거의 맥락에 대한 질적 연구

A qualitative study on the context of housing experienced by children in child care facilities

이 연구에서는 보호대상아동이 경험하는 주거의 맥락을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 연구자들은 아동양육시설과 공동생활가정, 청소년쉼터에서 근무하고 있는 종사자들과 거주하고 있는 아동들을 대상으로 한 개별면접을 통해 자료를 수집하고, 질적 연구접근인 맥락-패턴 분석방법을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과에서는 아동양육시설과 공동생활가정, 청소년쉼터의 세 가지 유형별로 각 3개 시설의 맥락과 연구 참여자들이 진술한 의미를 비교한 유형별 분석결과와 전체 시설들과 연구 참여자들의 경험을통합하여 분석한 주제분석 결과를 제시하였다. 주제분석 결과에서는 개별화된 사적 공간의 결여, ‘괜찮다’는 말의 의미, ‘가정’과 유사한 정도의 차이, ‘전략’이 필요한 시공간: 최선을 다하는 것이 ‘최선’은 아니다, 가족이라는 의미의 되새김, ‘내가 살던 집, 내가 사는 집, 내가 살고 싶은 집’, 공간과 사물의 의미와 영향: 어디에도 내 것이 없다면..., ‘집안의 일’과 ‘집밖의 관계’ 등의 주제가 제시되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로, 보호대상아동의 주거복지 향상을 위한 정책과 실천 지침들을 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study was to understand the context of housing experienced by children in child care facilities. To achieve this goal, researchers collected data through individual interviews with workers working in and children living in child rearing facilities, communal living families, and youth shelters, and analyzed the data through context-pattern analysis, one of the qualitative research approaches. As a result of the thematic analysis, the following themes emerged: “lack of individualized private space”, “the meaning of the word ‘it’s okay”, “the degree of similarity to ‘home’”, and “the space and time that requires ‘strategy’: doing your best is not ‘best’”, “a reminder of the meaning of family”, “the house I used to live in, the house I live in, the house I want to live in”, “the meaning and influence of spaces and objects: If there is nothing mine anywhere...”, “family affairs and relationships outside the house”. Based on these results, policies and practical guidelines for improving the housing welfare of children under child care facilities were proposed.
