This study examined the relationship among the role satisfaction of mother with a preschooler, her verbal regulation style, and the child’s personality. A sample included 300 mothers with 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old Korean children currently attending a nursery or kindergarten in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. The data collected in this study were analyzed by Pearson correlations and a multiple regression using the PASW 18.0. The results were as follow: First, it was revealed that there were significant relationships among all three main variables; Second, mother’s role satisfaction and verbal controlling style of child’s behaviors significantly predicted child’s personality, especially the role satisfaction having relatively greater impact on child’s personality development. In conclusion, compared to how a mother verbally regulate her child’s behaviors, how intrinsically she is satisfied being a mother affected the development of child’s personality traits more.
