The empowerment of self-leadership and self-efficacy in university women through self-directed microteaching lessons utilizing presentations

This study examined how the self-directed microteaching experiences shape the improvement of self-leadership and self-efficacy in university women. Using a quasi-experimental design, two groups of students (28 in the experimental, 50 in the control) were compared by their scores on self-leadership and self-efficacy assessment prior to and post the semester course. Analyses using paired t-test and independent sample t-test indicated that participants in the experimental group showed significant increases in both scores assessing self-leadership and self-efficacy, whereas those in the comparison group did not. Conclusively, the application of microteaching and presentation methods in a self-directed class engenders the enhancement of self-leadership and self-efficacy.
