Analysis of the Accreditation Levels of Accredited Childcare Centers in Busan

This study analyzed the ratio of accredited chidcare centers, absolute and relative accreditation levels of the centers according to the centers management and establishment types in Busan. The accreditation data of 582 accredited childcare centers in Busan were collected from ‘i-sarang Childcare Web Potal’ and statistically analyzed. The results showed the mean ratio of accredited centers was 60.5%. In each management type of the centers, national/public establishment type centers showed higher absolute accreditation level, but private type centers showed the level lower than other types. Childcare centers of home and national/public types from the smaller management type, and national/public centers from the larger management type showed higher relative accreditation levels than other types of the centers. In the smaller management type, accreditation levels of all the 5 establishment type centers in Busan were lower than the levels of nationwide childcare centers accredited in the same session. On the contrary, in the larger management type, national/public centers showed relatively higher levels than the nationwide centers.
