The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mothers marital satisfaction and parenting behaviors on externalizing problem behaviors of preschoolers. The participants of this study were 1,678 48∼54 months preschoolers and their mothers. The data were from Korean Children Panel Survey of Child-Care Policy Research Institute(2012). This study was conducted with descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). The results of this study were as follows. First, mothers marital satisfaction influenced directly on externalizing problem behaviors of preschoolers. Second, mothers marital satisfaction influenced directly on parenting behaviors. Third, mothers parenting behaviors influenced directly on externalizing problem behaviors of preschoolers. Fourth, mothers parenting behaviors had mediating effects on the relationship between mothers marital satisfaction and externalizing problem behaviors of preschoolers. In conclusion, mothers marital satisfaction and parenting behaviors have influence on externalizing problem behaviors of preschoolers. Especially, mothers’ parenting behaviors are the most significant variable reducing preschoolers’ externalizing problem behaviors.
