Structural Analysis of the relationship among family leisure satisfaction, parenting stress, and life satisfaction of the parents of young children during the period of the COVID-19

The purpose of this research is to analyze the structural relationship among family leisure satisfaction, parenting stress and life satisfaction of the parent of young children during the period of the COVID-19. The surveys were administered to parents of young children (N=303) living in the Seoul metropolitan area. To identify the structural relationship of the three variables, the hypothesized model (i.e. partial mediated model) was tested. The research findings supported that family leisure satisfaction had a direct and indirect effect on life satisfaction through parenting stress as a mediator. Based on the results of the study, the suggestion and implication to life satisfaction of parents of young children were discussed in the period of the COVID-19.
