From Equality to Competition?: Characteristics and Issues of Innovation in the French University Admission System

이 논문은 최근 단행한 프랑스 대입개혁안의 특성과 쟁점을 탐색하여 그 의미를 분석하려는 것을목적으로 하고 있다. 프랑스는 2018년 교육혁신을 단행하면서 ORE 법(Loi relative à l orientation et à la réussite des étudiants)에 의해 대학입시체제를 기존의 추첨제에서 선발제도로 전면 개편하였다. 새로운 대입제도에 맞추어 고교교육과정도 개편하여 2021년부터 교육현장에서 적용되고 있다. 성적에의한 대학선발체제 도입을 핵심으로 하는 이 입시개혁안은 프랑스 대학교육의 근간을 흔드는 변화라는 점에서 뜨거운 사회적 논쟁을 촉발해 왔다. 이 논문은 프랑스의 새로운 대학입시 제도 개혁에는 어떤 사회문화적 혹은 교육적 배경이 있는지, 핵심적인 변화내용과 이로 인한 주요한 쟁점은 무엇인지를 분석하여 궁극적으로 한국사회 대입제도에의 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저, 입시개혁안에 대한 맥락적 이해를 제공하고자 프랑스 고등교육 시스템의 특성과 대입제도 혁신안의 배경을 정리하였다. 다음으로, 대학입시개혁안에 따른 고등학교 교육과정과 바깔로레아(Bac)시험 등 주요한 변화내용을 분석하였다. 마지막으로, 대학입시 개혁안을 둘러싼 핵심적인 쟁점을 주제별로 분석하였다. 최종적으로 분석결과에 기반하여 한국사회 입시정책에의 시사점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the rationale for the recent French university admission reform by exploring its characteristics and issues. As France carried out educational innovation in 2018, the university entrance examination system was completely reorganized into a selection system according to the ORE Act (Loi relative à l orientation et à la réussite des étudiants). In line with the new college admission system, the high school curriculum was also reorganized and implemented in 2021. This reform, with the introduction of the university selection system as its core, has sparked a heated social debate in that it changes the basis of French university entrance exams. Ultimately, this study aims to draw implications for Korea s college admission system by analyzing what kind of socio-cultural or educational background there is, what the key changes are, and what the main issues are in France s new university entrance system reform. To this end, in order to provide a contextual understanding of the proposal for entrance examination reform, the characteristics of the French higher education system and the background of the reform proposal for the university entrance examination system are summarized. Next, major changes such as the high school curriculum and the baccalaureate (Bac) test are analyzed according to France s college admission reform plan. Lastly, the issues surrounding France s college entrance examination reform are analyzed, and, based on the results, implications for a Korean entrance examination policy are presented.
