Introduction: Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a life-threatening neurologic emergency associated with the use of dopamine receptor-antagonist properties or the rapid withdrawal of dopaminergic medications. Malignant hyperthermia (MH) may lead to metabolic crisis of skeletal muscle in susceptible individuals following exposure to triggering agents such as bentazone herbicides. Case Presentation: Herein, we report a ca se of NMS occurring after bentazone intoxication, which was successfully treated with targeted temperature management using a surface cooling device. Conclusions: When treating patients with bentazone poisoning, clinicians should consider the possibility of NMS and early targeted temperature management when suspicious symptoms develop.
