아놀드 쇤베르크(Anold Schönberg)의 음악교육 사상에 대한 소고

A study on Arnold Schoenberg s educational thought of music

본 논문의 목적은 20세기 서양음악을 대표하는 작곡가인 쇤베르크의 음악교육 활동과 교육 사상에 주목하여 음악교육가로서 쇤베르크의 교육활동을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 현시대 우리나라 교육에 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 연구의 내용은 크게 시기 구분에 따른 쇤베르크의 음악교육 활동, 쇤베르크의 음악교육 사상, 우리나라 교육에의 시사점으로 구성하였으며, 연구 방법으로는 선행연구를 통한 문헌 고찰을 채택하였다. 쇤베르크의 교육적 활동은 선행연구에 근거하여 시대적 특징에 따른 3기로 구분되며, 쇤베르크의 집필서와 서신 및 제자들이 남긴 교육적 사례의 서술을 바탕으로 그의 음악교육 활동이 고찰되었다. 쇤베르크의 음악교육 사상은 교사에 대한 의무와 역할을 기술한 그의 저서를 바탕으로 그가 가진 교사상과 교육관을 고찰하는 것으로 진행되었다, 마지막으로, 쇤베르크 교육활동과 사상에 대한 고찰을 토대로 시대를 초월하는 그의 사상에서 우리나라의 역량교육과 창의교육이 나아가야할 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 논문은 국내에서 상대적으로 부족했던 쇤베르크의 교육 업적을 재조명하고 시사점을 도출하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 지니며, 향후 음악교육에의 개선 방향성에 관한 다양한 연구가 수행되기를 기대한다.

This study aimed to examine the contents of the music education activities and the thoughts Schönberg who represents Western music in the 20th century, and to present implications for current domestic educations based on the analysis. This study consisted of Schönberg s music education activities, Schönberg s music education thoughts, and implications for Korean music education. As the research method, literature review through previous studies was adopted. Schönberg s educational activities were divided into 3 stages according to the characteristics of the times based on a previous study. Schönberg s music education activities were examined based on the writings and descriptions of educational cases left by his students and researchers. In addition, to understand Schönberg s perspectives on music education, the duties of a teacher described by his book was examined. Finally, the direction for the improvement of domestic music education was presented. This paper has the significance in that it examined the discussion on Schönberg s educational achievements, which were relatively lacking in Korea, and drew implications. It is expected that studies on the direction of improvement in music education will be carried out in the future.
