The effects of self-efficacy and job stress of play therapist on the therapeutic relationship with child client

This study was executed to identify the effects of self-efficacy, job stress on the therapeutic alliance of play therapist with child client. The subjects were 150 play therapists in the nationwide areas. Adapted versions of tools to check the self efficacy, job stress of play therapist and the therapeutic alliance with child client were used. The results were as follows: First, the levels of self efficacy and job stress of play therapist, and the therapeutic alliance with child client differed depending on the general characteristics of play therapists. Second, the levels of self efficacy and job stress of therapists and the therapeutic relationship differed with the working conditions and the length of career as therapist. Third, the self efficacy and job stress of play therapists influenced on their therapeutic relationship with child clients. The limits and the implication of this study were included.
