대학생의 대인외상 경험이 외상 후 스트레스(PTSD) 증상에 미치는 영향

The effect of interpersonal traumatic experience on posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms in undergraduate students: focusing on trauma experience-related variables and social support

The present study was aimed at examining the types of interpersonal traumatic events and identifying the effects of trauma experience-related variables and social support on PTSD symptoms. A total of 228(male 66, female 162) of undergraduate students in Chungcheong, Jeonla, and Jeju participated. The main results are as follow. It was revealed that 42.3% of the respondents were potential full PTSD symptoms group, and 13.2% were potential partial PTSD symptoms group. It was also found that the most distressed interpersonal traumatic events were‘Dispute or conflict with family members’,‘Death of family or relatives’,‘Problems of interpersonal relationship’,‘Difficulties in adaptation’,‘Illness of family’,‘Divorce of separation(parents)’,‘Death of best friend’in order. Second, frequency of traumatic events and perceived stress level were positively correlated with PTSD symptoms, whereas social support was negatively correlated with PTSD symptoms. Third, in the regression analysis, perceived stress level(19.6%), family support(19.6%), and frequency of traumatic events(10.8%) are predictable variables of PTSD symptoms. Based on major findings, implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
