들소 상징에 대한 연구

상징(symbol)이란 어떤 의미 있는 그러나 그 의미를 온전히 말로 표현 할 수 없는 미지의 어떤 의미를 전제로 한다. 우리는 알려져 있지 않은 어떤 의미를 표현하고자 최선을 다 하지만 온전히 설명하지 못한 의미가 남겨지는 것이 상징의 특징이다. 그러므로 상징적 의미를 온전히 표현할 수 있고 설명할 수 있다면 그 상징은 이미 상징으로서 생동성을 잃은 것이다. 모래놀이상담에서 상징은 정신의 적극적인 기능이며 다양한 형태로 자아의 자각에 나타난다. Jung의 이론에서 가장 의미 있는 개념 중의 하나인 상징화 과정은 모래놀이상담의 독특한 특징이다. 이러한 상징은 꿈이나 환상 또는 직관이나 영감, 신체증상이나 기분의 정동을 통해 나타나기도 하지만 모래놀이를 통해서도 나타나기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 모래놀이상담에서 등장하는 들소의 상징을 신화와 종교 그리고 인류문화를 통해서 나타난 의미를 심층적으로 확충하여 살펴보고 알아보고자 하였다. 소과에 속하는 야생동물로서 들소는 첫째 죽음과 재생, 둘째 정결과 순결, 셋째 힘과 권위, 넷째 용맹성, 다섯째 병마퇴치로 확충할 수 있었다. 들소는 집단적 무의식의 본능적 측면에서 동물 원형의 상징으로 드러난다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 본 연구에서 확충되어진 들소에 담긴 상징성 연구 결과는 동물 원형에 대한 새로운 상징적 의미를 보다 폭넓게 하는 계기가 될 것이다.

A symbol presupposes an unknown meaning that is meaningful but cannot be fully expressed in words. We do our best to express some unknown meaning, but the character of a symbol is that a meaning that cannot be fully explained is left behind. Therefore, if the symbolic meaning can be fully expressed and explained, the symbol has already lost its vitality as a symbol. In ‘Sandplay Counseling’, symbols are an active function of the mind and appear in self-awareness in various forms. The symbolization process, one of the most meaningful concepts in Jung's theory, is a unique feature of sand play counseling. This is because these symbols appear not only through dreams or fantasies, through intuition or inspiration, physical symptoms or emotions, but also sand play. In this study, the meaning of the symbol of the bison appearing in the sand play counseling was expanded and investigated in depth through mythology, religion, and human culture. As a wild animal belonging to the bovine family, the bison could be expanded with the first death and rebirth, the second purity and purity, the third strength and authority, the fourth bravery, and the fifth fight against the disease. It was found that the bison is revealed as a symbol of the animal archetype in the instinctive aspect of the collective unconscious. Therefore, the results of the study on the symbolism contained in the bison expanded in this study will serve as an opportunity to broaden the new symbolic meaning of the animal prototype.
