연극놀이 훈련프로그램이 정신지체학생의 적응행동과 감각표현에 미치는 영향

Effects of a drama play training program on adaptive behaviors and sensory expression of students with mental retardation

본 연구의 목적은 연극놀이 훈련프로그램이 정신지체 학생의 집단연극놀이 상황에서의 적응행동과 감각표현에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 살펴보는 것이었다. 연구대상은 특수학교 고등부에 재학 중인 정신지체 학생 10명(경도 5명; 중등도 5명)이었으며, 주 4회씩 7주간 28회기에 걸쳐 프로그램을 실시하였다. 집단연극놀이 상황에서의 적응행동을 측정하기 위해서 Wasserman 외(1979)의 평가척도를 수정한 적응행동 평정척도를 사용하였고, 감각표현을 측정하기 위해서는 연구자들이 프로그램의 내용을 반영해 개발한 감각표현 평정척도를 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같았다: (1) 연극놀이 훈련프로그램이 정신지체학생의 집단연극놀이 상황에서의 적응행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나, 정신지체의 정도와 성별은 프로그램 효과에 영향을 미치지 않았다. (2) 연극놀이 훈련프로그램이 집단연극놀이 상황에서의 정신지체학생의 감각표현에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나, 정신지체의 정도와 성별은 프로그램 효과에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이와 같은 결과는 현재 특수교육 현장에서 사용하고 있는 역할놀이에 감각을 활성화시키기 위하여 연극분야에서 사용하고 있는 훈련프로그램을 접목한 프로그램이 정신지체학생의 집단연극놀이 상황에서의 적응행동과 감각표현에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사하며, 장애학생의 효과적인 교육을 위한 학제간 연구에 기초자료를 제공하게 될 것이다.

The purposes of this study were: (a) to investigate the effects of a drama play training program on adaptive behaviors of high school students with mental retardation in group drama educational settings and (b) to investigate the effects of a drama play training program on sensory expressions of high school students with mental retardation in group drama educational settings. The subjects were 10 high school students(5 students with mild mental retardation and 5 students with moderate mental retardation; 5 male students and 5 female students) enrolled in a special school for mental retardation. The drama play training program was composed 28 sessions conducted for 7 weeks. The research findings were that the drama play training program had a statistically significant effect on improving adaptive behaviors and sensory expression of students with mental retardation in group drama play educational settings, and that gender and the degree of mental retardation had not statistically significant relation to the effects of the program.
