토픽모델링과 의미연결망 분석을 활용한 영재교육 연구 동향 분석

Trends in Gifted Education Using Topic Modeling and Semantic Network Analysis

본 연구에서는 제4차 영재교육진흥종합계획이 시행되고 있는 2018년부터 2021년까지의 4년간 국내 영재교육 연구 동향을 종합적으로 살펴보고, 연구주제의 양상을 토대로 연구 및 정책의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 2018년부터 2021년까지 KCI 등재학술지인「영재교육연구」와「영재와 영재교육」에서 발행된 연구논문 총 190편을 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영재교육 연구는 창의적 사고, 학생선발 및 평가, 진로 발달, 과학고 및 영재학교, 영재교육 프로그램, 소외 영재, 영재성의 7개 토픽으로 구분할 수 있었다. 그 중에서도 가장 많은 비중을 차지하는 연구 주제는 영재교육 프로그램인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영재교육 관련 연구주제의 4년간의 비중 변화를 시계열로 관찰한 결과, 진로 발달의 연구는 연구의 비중이 증가하는 상향(hot)한 토픽인 것으로 나타났으며, 다른 6개의 주제는 시간의 흐름에 따라 그 변화가 통계적으로 유의하지 않아 중립 토픽인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 영재교육 연구의 토픽은 주요 키워드인 교사, 인식, 핵심역량, 프로그램, 학생, 영재성, 영향의 키워드로 연계되어 있었으며, 그 중에서도 인식 키워드는 가장 많은 토픽을 연결하는 중요한 키워드인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 영재교육 분야에서 연구의 주제가 어떻게 변화하고 있는지 살펴보았으며, 제4차 영재교육진흥종합계획에서 강조하고 있는 정책적 방향에 따른 연구에 대한 시사점을 도출하고 향후 영재교육 정책 수립에 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends in gifted education in Korea over the four years from 2018 to 2021, when the 4th Master Plan for the Promotion of Gifted and Talented Education was implemented. To do this, the study data consisted of 190 research papers published in the KCI-listed academic journals 'Journal of Gifted/Talented Education' and 'The Journal of the Korean Society for Gifted and Talented.' Topic modeling (LDA) and semantic network analysis (SNA) methods were used in this study. The results are as follows. First, the articles on gifted education were divided into seven topic areas: creative thinking, student selection and evaluation, career development, science high schools and gifted schools, gifted education programs, underprivileged gifted children, and gifted children. Among these, the topic that accounted for the largest proportion of topics studied was gifted education programs. Second, as a result of analyzing the trends in the topics over a period of four years, career development was a prevalent research topic, but the others were found to be neutral. Third, the topics of papers on gifted education research were linked to the keywords : teacher, perception, core competency, program, student, giftedness, and influence. In addition, recognition was an important keyword connected to most topics. Based on these results, we derive implications according to the policy direction emphasized in the 4th Master Plan for the Promotion of Gifted and Talented Education and provide basic data for policy establishment.
