코로나바이러스-19와 교육의 관계에 대한 교육사회학적 성찰

A reflection on the relationship between Covid-19 and education in Korea

교육적 일상을 갑자기 중단시킨 코로나는 개인적으로 놀라운 경험이었다. 학교가 코로나 확산에 취약하다는 의학적 판단에 따라 학교는 일정 기간 문을 닫았고, 교사와 학생은 사회적 거리두기를 실시했으며, 모두 백신을 접종했다. 코로나는 예전의 교육과는 성격이 다른 교육적 실천을 요구했다. 이 글의 목적은 코로나로 인한 낯선 경험을 어떻게 이해할 수 있는지 성찰하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 코로나에 대한 교육부의 대응 담론과 코로나의 미시적 수준에서의 교육적 영향을 분석하고, 앞으로 논의가 필요한 쟁점을 제시했다. 먼저, 교육부는 배움 담론, 돌봄 담론, 안전 담론, 미래 담론이라는 관점에서 코로나에 대응했다. 코로나는 인간과 비인간인 물질과의 교육적 관계 강조, 장의 변화로 인한 히스테리시스 효과, 몸의 정동 능력과 같은 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로 포스트코로나 시대에 추가 논의가 필요한 주제로 교육 거버넌스와 국가 역할, 교육불평등의 다중성, 교육통치성의 변화, 그리고 교육의 디지털화와 학교의 재배치를 제안했다.

Covid-19 was an unfamiliar experience that abruptly interrupted the educational practices. Based on medical decisions, all schools are closed and we must follow social distancing rule and get vaccinated. I change the teaching methods used to in formal education and adopted those that fit online-based virtual learning environment. The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the relationship between Covid-19 and education, serve insight into how to understand the unfamiliar experience of Covid-19. To this end, I firstly analyze the Ministry of Education's response discourses to Covid-19. The Ministry of Education's response discourses summarize in four discourses: learning discourse, care discourse, safety discourse, and future discourse. Secondly, I explore the impact of Covid-19 on education at the micro level. Covid-19 influences the educational relationship between human and non-human material, the hysteresis effect of field changes, and the effects of the body's affect capacity production. Finally, I suggest further research issues in the post-Covid-19 era: state's educational role, changes of governmentality in education, digitalization of education, and multiplicity of educational inequality.
