카탈로그 레조네(Catalogue Raisonné)의 분류체계 및 활성화 방안 연구

A Study of the Catalogue Raisonné’s Classification System and Activation Method

카탈로그 레조네(catalogue raisonné)는 단일 예술가의 모든 작품과 관련 자료를 분류 및 정리하여 목록화한 자료라 할 수 있다. 국내에서 ‘전작 도록’이라는 이름으로 불리는 카탈로그 레조네는 작가와 작품에 대한 상세한 내용까지 모두 수록하여 작가 연구 및 작품 감정 등에도 사용되는 중요한 자료라 할 수 있다. 국내에서도 작품의 위작 시비가 있을 때마다 정확한 감정을 위한 카탈로그 레조네가 필요하다는 목소리가 꾸준히 나오고 있지만, 아직 국내 카탈로그 레조네 제작 사례는 드물다. 본 연구는 국외 카탈로그 레조네 제작 사례(렘브란트, 조지아 오키프, 에드바르 뭉크, 앤디 워홀)와 국내 작가(김기창, 장욱진, 박수근, 이중섭)의 사례를 통해 각 카탈로그 레조네별 분류체계를 분석·정리하였다. 이를 바탕으로 작가의 생애와 작품의 특성에 따라 별도의 분류 항목이 추가될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 정확하고 상세한 카탈로그 레조네 제작을 위한 선행 요소와 해외에서 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있는 온라인 형식의 카탈로그 레조네를 활성화 방안으로 제시하였다. 아트 아카이브 구축의 중요성이 높아지는 상황에서 본 연구가 국내 카탈로그 레조네의 제작에 도움이 되길 바란다.

The Catalogue Rasonné is a collection of all the known works and related materials of a single artist. It can be a critical resource for artist research and authentic appraisal because it provides all of the artist’s and artwork’s details. Whenever there is a debate regarding forgery of a work in Korea, there are continually voices advocating for the necessity for a catalogue raisonné for proper evaluation, yet the instance of catalogue raisonné production is still rare in Korea. Through the production instances of abroad artists(Rembrandt van Rijn, Georgia O’keeffe, Edvard Munch, and Andy Warhol) and the cases of Korean artists (Kim Ki-chang, Jang Wook-jin, Park Soo-keun, and Lee Jung-seop), this study analyzed the classification elements for each catalogue raisonné. As a result, it was confirmed that extra cases of classification elements could exist according to the artist’s biography and the characteristics of the artworks. As an activation methods, the preceding elements for accurate and detailed catalogue raisonne were examined and the potential for media extension through online catalogue raisonné, which has been actively investigated recently, was suggested. At this point in time when the importance of building an art archives, it is hoped that this study will be helpful in the production of a domestic catalogue raisonné in Korea.
