어린이박물관 연구 동향에 관한 분석

Analysis of the Trends of the Researches into the Children’s Museums

본 연구는 어린이박물관과 관련한 국내의 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 국내에서 어린이박물관에 대한 연구가 처음으로 시작된 1995년부터 2021년 9월까지 총 26년간 발행된 학위 논문 106편, 학술지 논문 91편, 국립박물관의 연구논문집 논문 40편, 총 237편의 논문을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 연구결과 첫 번째 연구시기에 따라 어린이박물관 연구가 꾸준히 증가했음을 확인했다. 두 번째 연구주제는 전시가 47.3%로 가장 많았고, 교육프로그램이 33.8%를 차지했다. 세 번째, 연구대상은 연구참여자가 없는 문헌연구가 60.3%로 가장 많았고, 연구대상이 있는 경우 미취학아동(31%)과 성인(52%)이 많았다. 네 번째, 연구방법은 질적연구(75.1%)가 가장 많았으며, 자료수집은 문헌·웹문서 자료(41.4%)를 활용한 경우가 가장 많았다. 다섯 번째 학위논문이 44.7%로 학술지 논문 38.4%보다 많았으며, 학위논문과 학술지 모두 예술 대학원 및 건축디자인 분야의 연구가 가장 많았다. 본 연구 결과는 어린이박물관에 대한 연구가 증가하고 있으나 주제, 대상, 방법 등에 있어 편중되는 경향을 알리며, 향후 연구 방향 설정에 있어서 보다 다양한 접근과 융합 연구가 필요함을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of the domestic researches into the children's museums. For this purpose, the researchers reviewed 106 college dissertations, 91 journal articles and 40 national museum articles or a total of 237 dissertations or articles published in Korea for the period from 1995 through Sept. 2021. The results of this study can be summed up as follows. First, it was confirmed that the researches into children's museums had increased steadily. Secondly, the exhibition accounted for most of the research themes (47.3%), followed by the education program (33.8%). Thirdly, 60.3% of the researches were literature reviews with no participants, while the other researches sampled pre-schoolers (31%) and adults (52%) mostly. Fourthly, 75.1% of the researches were qualitative ones, and 41.4% of them used references and web data. Fifthly, the college dissertations accounted for 44.7%, while journal articles make up 38.4%. In both cases, most of researchers' affiliations were graduate schools of arts or departments of architecture design. This results of this study may well suggest that although the researches into the children's museums have been increasing, their themes, subjects and methods have been biased, and that future researches should use more diverse approaches and inter-disciplinary methods.
