내러티브 탐구를 통한 국내 거주 고려인의 한국어 학습 경험에 관한 연구

A study on the Korean language learning experience of Korean residents living in Korea through narrative inquiry

본 연구는 국내 거주 고려인들의 한국어 학습 경험에 대한 내러티브를 토대로 한국어 학습의 의미와 한국어 학습과 정체성과의 관계를 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 국내에 거주하고 있는 고려인 5명을 대상으로 면담을 진행하여 한국어 학습과 관련된 자료를 수집, 분석하였다. 그 결과 고려인들에게 있어서 국내 이주 전 한국어는 주변 언어에서, 국내 이주 단계에서는 한국 사회의 삶을 영유하기 위한 생존의 언어로, 적응 단계 이후에는 목표를 이루기 위한 수단의 언어로 변화하는 것을 확인하였다. 이를 사회학적 관점인 투자의 측면에서 본다면 한국어 학습은 언어 공동체 참여를 위한 투자며, 상상의 정체성을 위한 투자로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 고려인들의 삶의 맥락에서 한국어 학습이 어떻게 이루어졌는지를 살펴봄으로써 한국어 학습 과정을 학습자의 관점에서 이해했다는 점과 언어와 정체성의 관계를 사회학적인 관점으로 해석했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Studying the narratives of Koryo-saram living in Korea, the purpose of this study is to understand what Korean language learning means and how language identity and investment relate. Five Koryo-saram living in Korea were interviewed in-depth to collect and analyze data on Korean language learning. Therefore, Korean was the language of their peripheral language before they emigrated to Korea, the language of survival after they immigrated to Korea, and the language of achieving goals after they adapted to Korea. In terms of sociological investment, Korean language learning can be viewed as an investment into membership in the language community and an investment in creating an imagined self. The significance of this study is that it focuses on the learning process through the experiences of Korean learners, Koryo-sarams, and interprets its relationship with language and identity from a sociological perspective.
