체육전담교사와 학생 간 갈등의 유형 및 배경 드러내기

Exploring the Patterns of Conflict and Conflicts Situation between a PE Teacher and Students in the Elementary School

이 연구는 협력적 셀프 연구의 방법론을 토대로 초등학교 체육수업시간에 벌어지는 체육전담교사와 학생 간 갈등의유형과 그 배경을 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 8년 동안에 걸친 한 초등체육전담교사의 체육수업일지와 공동연구자들과의 수시 상담으로 자료수집이 이뤄졌고 항시비교법의 자료 분석 절차를 토대로 초등체육전담교사와 학생 간 갈등의 유형을 ’교사 원인 갈등’과 ‘학생 원인 갈등’으로 범주화했다. 각각의 갈등 유형에 따른 배경도 제시했는데 첫째, ‘교사 원인 갈등’의 배경으로 ‘일방적 과제 제시’와 ‘분노 조절 실패’의 측면을 드러냈고, 둘째, ‘학생 원인 갈등’ 의 배경으로 ‘체육 교과에 대한 편견’, ‘소극적 수업 태도’, ‘동료 괴롭힘’의 측면을 드러냈다. 마지막으로 갈등 상황을 극복할 수 있는 대안을 몇 가지 제시했다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the Patterns of Conflict and Conflicts Situation between a PE teacher and students in the elementary school. Using the collaborative self-study methods, most of the data was collected from the reflective journals made by a PE teacher for eight years and irregular choice interview among co-researchers who had conducted collaborative self-study. The data was analyzed by the Constant Comparative Method. The data analysis resulted in two patterns of conflict and conflicts situation. First is “Conflict Caused by a Teacher” included both “Top-down Assigning Tasks to Students“ and “Failure of Controlling Anger.” Second is “Conflict Caused by Students” included “Stereotypes about PE”, “Passive Attitude about PE Classes”, and “Bullying by Peers.” At last, some ideas for getting over the limits of conflict situation were examined.
