학교내 무한상상실의 안전 점검 현황 : 국립학교를 중심으로

Safety check and status in school makerspaces: Focused on the national primary and secondary schools

우리 사회의 급격한 변화를 이끌고 있는 기술의 혁신과 융합이라는 키워드는 교육계에서도 많은 혁신과 도전이 되고 있다. 학생들의 융합적 소양을 기르는 교실 수업 개선을 위한 노력의 일환으로 2019년부터 학교내 무한상상실을 운영하고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 2021년 학교내 무한상상실을 운영하고 있는 전국의 국립학교의 무한상상실 안전 현황을 파악하는데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 국립학교 무한상상실의 결과 보고서를 분석하고, 안전점검 체크리스트를 개발 및 적용하였다. 이 연구의 대상은 학교내 무한상상실을 운영하고 있는 32개의 국립학교이다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개발된 안전점검도구는 체크리스트 형태이며 안전관리 점검표와 장비관리 점검표로 구성되었다. 둘째, 학교내 무한상상실 프로그램은 목공 중심, SW 중심, 디지털 장비 중심, 스토리텔링형으로 운영되었으며, SW 중심 무한상상실이 가장 많았다. 셋째, 안전관리 점검항목에서 초등학교가 중학교보다 미흡 또는 비적용의 항목이 많았다. 장비관리 점검의 경우 모든 학교급에서 미흡 또는 비적용의 비율이 높았다. 또한, 안전점검 결과는 프로그램의 유형별로 각기 다르게 나타났다. 이런 결과에 기반한 결론과 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국립학교 무한상상실의 유형은 학교급에 따른 특성을 보이고 있다. 둘째, 안전점검체크리스트는 안전한 시설 및 환경 구축에 긍정적 영향을 미치기에 국립학교에서 정기적인 점검이 필요하다. 마지막으로 장비관리 점검은 프로그램의 성격과 학교급에 따라 지속적인 검토와 수정 보완이 필요하다.

The keywords of technological innovation and convergence lead to rapid transitions in modern society and become concentrated educational innovations and policies. As part of efforts to improve classroom instruction that fosters students’ convergence literacy, the school has been operating and implementing school makerspace project called as Infinite Imagination Space since 2019. The purpose of this study was to investigate the safety status of school makerspaces in national schools nationwide that are operating the school makerspace project in 2021. This study analyzed the final report of the national school makerspace project and developed and applied a safety check checklist. The subject of this study is 32 national schools operating the school makerspace project. The results of this study are as follows. First, the developed safety check tool is in the form of a checklist and consists of a safety management checklist and equipment management checklist. Second, the programs in the school makerspace project were operated in woodworking-oriented, SW-centered, digital equipment-centered, and storytelling types, and SW-centered makerspace was the most frequent. Third, in the safety management checklist, there were more items that were insufficient or non-applied in elementary schools than in middle schools. In the case of equipment management check, the responses of insufficient or non-applied were high in all school levels. In addition, the results of the safety checklist were different for each program type. Conclusions and recommendations based on these results are as follows. First, the type of the school makerspace project shows characteristics according to the school level. Second, the safety check has a positive effect on the establishment of safe facilities and environment, so regular inspections are required at schools. Lastly, equipment management check requires continuous review, correction, and supplementation according to the nature of the program and school level.
