마스크 사용이 말지각에 미치는 효과에 대한 최근 연구 동향

Analysis of Recent Trends on the Effect of Face Masks on Speech perception

본 연구는 마스크가 의사소통에 미치는 효과에 대해 연구대상, 마스크 종류, 말지각에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 중심으로 최근 3년간의 연구 동향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 기준에 따라 선행 연구 중 16편을 선정하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 마스크에 대하 말지각 연구는 건청 성인을 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많았고, 다음으로 청각장애 성인과 아동의 순이었다. 둘째, 마스크 착용 유무에 따라, 2-4개의 마스크 종류에 따라 말지각 수행이 어떻게 달라지는지 살펴보았다. 셋째, 마스크 외에 말지각에 영향을 주는 요인들로 소음 유무 혹은 소음의 크기 등을 조절하여 말지각에 미치는 효과를 살펴보았으며, 시각적 단서를 제시하느냐의 여부 혹은 마스크 착용 후 화자의 발화 형태를 조절하는지 여부에 따라 말지각에 미치는 효과에 차이가 있는지를 확인하였다. 본 연구가 기초 자료로 사용되어 국내에서도 마스크 착용이 의사소통에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the research trends of the last three years, focusing on the study subjects, mask types, and factors affecting speech perception on the effects of masks on communication. According to the criteria, 16 of the preceding studies were selected and analyzed, and the results are as follows. First, the subjects of speech perception study for masks were normal adults the most, followed by adults and children with hearing impairment. Second, there were many studies examining the speech perception ability of the study subjects according to the type of mask, and the effect of wearing a mask or not or 2-4 types of masks on speech perception. Third, the effect of wearing a mask was examined by adjusting the presence or absence of noise or the size of the noise. There was also a study examining the effect on the listener's speech perception when the speaker adjusts the voice intensity or the speaker's style of speaking in the form of speaking clearly after wearing a mask. In this study, referring to the effect of wearing a mask on communication, it can be used as basic data to study the effect on communication using the mask used in Korea.
