시청각장애학생 담당교사의 교육지원 어려움과 지원 요구

Difficulties of Educational Support and Needs of Teachers in Charge of Deaf-Blind Students

이 연구는 시청각장애학생 담당교사의 시청각장애학생에 대한 교육지원의 어려움과 지원 요구를 알아보고자 시청각장애학생 담당교사 6명을 대상으로 FGI를 실시하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 수행을 통한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시청각장애학생 담당교사들은 시청각장애학생의 현행수준을 파악하는 데 어려움을 겪고 있었고, 학생의 장애 상태 및 현행수준 평가를 위한 다양한 지원을 요구하였다. 둘째, 교사들은 교수-학습 과정에서 시청각장애학생에 대한 적절한 지원을 제공하는 데 한계를 경험하고 있었고, 이를 극복하기 위해 교사 전문성 함양 및 학습보조기기 등의 지원을 요구하였다. 셋째, 교사들은 시청각장애학생의 의사소통 및 학교생활 적응에 대한 어려움을 제기하였으며, 이를 개선하기 위해서 장애 특성을 고려한 의사소통 지원 및 일상생활 적응 지원의 필요성을 언급하였다. 마지막으로 시청각장애학생 담당교사들은 시청각장애학생 교육지원의 문제점으로 관련 전문가 및 법제도의 부재를 들었으며, 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 시청각장애교육 관련기관 연계 및 정책적 차원의 지원 필요성을 강조하였다. 이 연구의 시청각장애학생 담당교사의 교육적 어려움과 지원 요구 분석을 통해 향후 시청각장애학생 교육을 위한 지원 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the difficulties of educational support and needs of teachers in charge of deaf-blind students. For this purpose, FGI was conducted with 6 teachers in charge of deaf-blind students and the results were analyzed. The results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, teachers in charge of the deaf-blind students had difficulties in understanding the current level of the students. Therefore they requested various support for the assessment of the students' disability status and current level. Second, teachers experienced limitations in providing appropriate support to deaf-blind students during the teaching-learning process. In order to overcome this, teachers wanted enhancement of their professionalism and support for learning aids. Third, teachers raised the issues in difficulties of communication and adaptation to school life for deaf-blind students. To improve this, they mentioned the need for communication support considering the characteristics of the disability and support for daily life adjustment. Finally, teachers said that the lack of relevant experts and legal systems is one of the problems in educational support for deaf-blind students. To improve these problems, they emphasized the need for linkage with educational institutions related to deaf-blind education and policy level support. This study suggested the support plan for the education of deaf-blind students through the analysis of educational difficulties and support needs of the teachers in charge of deaf-blind students.
